GHSP Recognized by General Motors as a 2018 Supplier of the Year Winner

GHSP announced today it was named a “GM Supplier of the Year” by General Motors during the company’s 27th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony held Wednesday, May 15, in Detroit. The award recognizes companies for outstanding innovation, quality and performance, and is a testament to GHSP’s continued ability to deliver high quality, innovative and industry-leading electronic control technology. 

“Thank you to our valued long-term customer GM for recognizing us with this prestigious award,” said Keith Mulder, GHSP Vice President of Sales. “This recognition is an important validation of our team’s commitment to excellence and continuous innovation, and is a direct result of the strong and collaborative relationship we have with GM.” 

During the event, GM recognized 133 of its best suppliers, from 15 countries, that have consistently exceeded GM’s expectations, created outstanding value or introduced innovations to the company.

This is the first time GHSP has received the award.

“We hold our suppliers to a high bar,” said Steve Kiefer, GM senior vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “They went above and beyond to deliver the innovations and quality that will help us earn customers for life.” 

The Supplier of the Year award winners were chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives. Winners were selected based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing, Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services, Customer Care and Aftersales, and Logistics.

One example of the technology GHSP supplies is the Electronic Precision Shift, an electrically controlled gear selector consisting of push buttons and pull triggers. GHSP collaborated with GM on this innovative shifter with the goal of enhancing the customer experience and maximizing interior space. These products provide a variety of benefits to GM including a common software that is used to talk to the automakers electronic-control unit. GHSP’s innovative approach to this and other products has positioned the company to support the automaker’s increased needs for electrification of new cars and trucks.
